The Toileting Communication Cards resource is a comprehensive set of 138 visual communication cards designed to support children, students, and adults to request the toilet, potty, or bathroom in a way that feels accessible, respectful, and autonomous.
This resource has been intentionally created to support Autistic individuals, AAC users, and Gestalt Language Processors (GLPs) by offering a wide range of language forms, visual styles, and colour options. It recognises that toileting communication is a core self-advocacy skill and that every learner communicates needs differently.
Developed through a neuroaffirmative lens, these cards prioritise communication access over compliance and support the journey toward toileting independence without pressure, shame, or behavioural demands.
